Access and Inclusive Excellence
Access and Inclusive Excellence Statement
1. As members of the Department of Chemistry and Physics, we affirm the “Statement of Aspirations” by the University of Tennessee System.(1)
2. Specifically, as scientists,(2) we affirm the values of the national chemistry and physics professional societies: American Chemical Society (ACS) and American Physical Society (APS). (3-6)
3. Fully adopting this statement requires, within our department and discipline, activities that promote the flourishing of all students. To guide this work, we have established a departmental Access and Inclusive Excellence Committee. In addition to the routine interface with faculty and staff this committee will seek input from the established departmental Student Advisory Council to ensure student voices are represented in our programs.
