Karen Henderson teaches film classes.  She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Samford University (’78); a Master of Religious Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (’82); a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (’96); and a Master of Arts in Screenwriting & Film Studies from Hollins University (’10).  In addition to teaching, Henderson is a longtime volunteer at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre where she has performed in numerous shows, including:  The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? (Miss Annie Award for Best Actress); Smoke on the Mountain and Sanders Family Christmas; Joined at the Head; Keely and Du; The Odd Couple (female version); How I Learned to Drive; Talking With…; Dark of the Moon; TheImportance of Being Earnest; Crimes of the Heart; Wonder of the World; See Rock City; and All in the Timing.  Before her career as a professor began, she worked for ten years as a Baptist Youth Minister at churches in Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
