Jamie joined the Center for Global Education team in November, 2018. Her passion for international education began in the sixth grade when she participated in her first international trip to London and Paris with the People to People program. Since all it takes is one trip to get addicted, she went on to participate in several educational trips around the world and studied abroad in Japan and Germany during her undergraduate career. After five years of working in the Education Abroad Office at Murray State University in western Kentucky (which is also her alma mater), she moved to New Zealand and worked in the International Office at the University of Otago. She fell in love with New Zealand and the city of Dunedin, but, like all good stories, her time in the southern hemisphere came to an end after 14 months. Now she's in Chattanooga (which she loves), ready to help all UTC students have the opportunity to make study abroad a part of their story. A firm believer in the power of travel as an educational tool, Jamie is passionate about getting students on quality programs and making sure that study abroad is an integral part of a student's degree program. She advises for all programs in Europe and The Americas. You can schedule an appointment to meet with Jamie through Navigate.
