We are excited to announce a new pitch competition for UTC faculty and graduate student innovators. Fly for Researchers will give researchers with a proof of concept, who are pursuing commercialization or licensing opportunities, the opportunity to win significant grant money.
UTC faculty, staff, and graduate students from all colleges are invited to apply to pitch their ideas that have the potential to be commercialized or licensed. Up to $35,000 in internal grants will be awarded - $20,000 for 1st place; $10,000 for 2nd place; and $5,000 for 3rd place. Although direct compensation to the awardee is unallowable, awardees will be able to use these funds for supplies, travel, student support, or other expenses that are reasonable and allowable under UT policy to accelerate the success of their ideas, innovations, and commercialization objectives.
Fly for Researchers will be held on Tuesday, April 12th from 3:30 – 5:30, in the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (Mapp Building). Shuttle service will be available between the UC and Mapp Building.
