Streaming Videos at UTC Library
The UTC Library realizes that the need to access streaming video for courses has been growing in importance over the past several years. In light of this, several options for viewing and requesting access to streaming video for course use have been made available.
- Academic Video Online is a comprehensive database containing 68,000+ streaming videos on a wide variety of academic subjects. This is a good place to start searching for videos used for teaching and research.
- Docuseek contains 1,500 independent films on social and environmental topics.
- Drama Online: Classic and modern plays recorded live.
- Kanopy and Swank Feature Films provides access to a limited number of UTC licensed films. Ability to request purchase via form for non-licensed films. UTC librarians will work with faculty to determine the best possible purchase or licensing options depending upon available funding and user needs.
The Library maintains a Streaming Media Guide which contains both UTC licensed streaming video resources as well as links to freely accessible websites with educational streaming videos. The guide also has a search box for the Library’s catalog where DVD’s can be located if the Library owns them.
