Finance involves understanding decision-making in a global environment, investing, securities markets, financial institutions, and the process of making and managing money for individuals and companies. Studying finance equips students with the ability to analyze historical trends, interpret current events, make informed predictions, and understand human behavior in financial contexts.

- More about the Finance program at UTC
The Finance Program at UTC offers students a rich menu of classes and experiences to be successful in careers in finance. Finance students develop strong analytical, interpretative and communication skills. At UTC, we offer two tracks of study. In the Business Finance track the emphasis is on corporate finance, financial institutions, international finance and financial modeling. The track prepares students for careers in both for-profit and not-for-profit corporations and financial institutions. The Investments track emphasizes investment strategies, derivative securities and portfolio management, and is geared to prepare students for the Level I exam of the CFA Program. In both tracks, internship experience, experiential learning and the pursuit of professional designations are strongly encouraged.
- Personal Finance minor
The Personal Finance Minor is designed to make the study of finance more accessible to students across the campus. The primary goal is to spread financial literacy and disseminate best practices in personal financial decision-making. This 18-hour program has a mix of economics, accounting, personal finance, insurance and real estate coursework that broadly expose students to real life circumstances that require financial acumen.
- Bloomberg Lab
The Bloomberg Lab at UTC brings the real world of finance into the classroom, exposing students to the industry-leading Bloomberg Professional® service and giving them an edge when they enter the workplace. Student proctors are available to assist in getting you started with your certification. The Bloomberg Lab is open during the semester Mondays through Thursdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except when reserved for class use or a designated meeting.
