Automated External Defibrillators

UTC has multiple automated external defibrillator (AED) units on campus for public use. They are strategically placed in various buildings around our campus. Campus Police patrol vehicles are also equipped with AEDs.

The AED units located in buildings are mounted in cabinets in public areas, and designated personnel in each location have been trained in CPR and the use of the AED. In addition, all Campus Police Officers are trained in the use of AED's.

Bleeding Control Kits

UTC has many trauma first-aid kits on campus for public use. Located near AED units, these kits are available to help stop life-threatening bleeding after a traumatic event has occurred.

The kits are located in buildings and are mounted in public areas. Inside the kit offers a tourniquet, gauze, and instructions in order to help during an incident before first responders arrive. In addition, all Campus Police Officers are trained in the use of using bleed kits.
