Welcome To Smart Communications and Analysis Lab

Welcome to the Smart Communications and Analysis Lab (SCAL). SCAL is affiliated with the multidisciplinary Urban Science and Technology (UrbanS&T) initiative at UTC. At SCAL, we work on wireless communications and big data analysis-related research projects in areas of Transportation, Energy, and Health. Through our close collaborations with the Chattanooga smart-city community, our work is done in real-world settings. Founded and directed by Mina Sartipi, SCAL focuses on research in the following topics:

  • Smart Cities (Transportation, Energy, and Health)
  • Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)
  • Data Integration, Data Interoperability, Big Data Analytics
  • Modern Error Control Coding and Information Theory
