iLab - Design Process - Ideation
During this phase, groups used brainstorming exercises to generate ideas for solving the problem they defined in Phase 3. Brainstorming activites included: NYAKA, Out of the Box, and the 1010 Method (from Robert Curedale's "Design Thinking: Precoess and Methods Manual"). During the ideation phase groups also re-defined the problems, with several groups changing the problem they were planning to solve.
Ideas suggested during the ideation phase included:

- Install Bike Chattanooga ports in East Chattanooga
- Subsidize bicycles for residents on a need-basis
- More walking signs on streets
- Better lighting
- Traffic slowing measures to make bike travel safer on those streets
- Structure of buses and bicycles (for grocery transportation)
- Car share
- Volunteer neighborhood car pool (maybe done block by block)
- Food pantry //resembles healthy food corners, so now it's ensuring access to that //how do people get downtown? Bus, walking Amnicola, walking Dodson //is Dodson walkable the whole way to E 3rd? And even then, you're pretty far out of central downtown
