SUBMIT AN EVENT FOR 2026 HOMECOMING WEEK: MOCS2K

UTC Homecoming 2026: MOCS2K is scheduled for Saturday, October 31–Saturday, November 7, and we are inviting campus departments to help us create a full week of opportunities for the UTC community to connect, celebrate, and show their Moc spirit.

Homecoming is one of UTC's largest campus traditions, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Chattanooga community. Campus partners play an important role in making the week feel like a university-wide celebration. Hosting a Homecoming event is an opportunity to:

Connect your department or office with students in a fun and engaging environment.
Showcase your programs, resources, or services to a broader campus audience.
Create opportunities for students, alumni, faculty, and staff to build community.
Contribute to a Homecoming experience that extends beyond our signature events and reaches students throughout the week.

What Makes an Event a Homecoming Event?

While many programs and events may take place on campus during Homecoming Week, an event occurring during the week is not automatically considered a Homecoming event.

Events submitted for the official Homecoming calendar should have a clear and intentional connection to Homecoming and/or the MOCS2K theme. This could include opportunities that:

Build UTC pride, spirit, tradition, or community.
Bring students, alumni, faculty, staff, or campus partners together in celebration of UTC.
Creatively incorporate the MOCS2K theme into the event experience, activities, or marketing.
Enhance the overall Homecoming experience by offering programming that complements the week's signature events.

Departments are welcome to adapt an existing program for Homecoming, but the submission should clearly demonstrate how the event contributes to the purpose and experience of Homecoming, rather than submitting an unrelated event simply because it happens to occur during the week.

What’s Already Planned?

The University Homecoming Committee is already coordinating several signature events and traditions throughout the week, including:

Mocs Football vs. VMI, 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 31
Homecoming Banner Painting, 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1
Homecoming Promo Tabling, 11 am.-2 p.m. on Monday, November 2
Library Event, 3-5 p.m. on Monday, November 2
Mocs Women's Basketball vs. UVA Wise, 6 p.m. on Monday, November 2
Homecoming Block Party, 5:30-8 p.m. on Monday, November 2
Library Event, 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3
Lip Sync, 8-10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4
Mocs Volleyball vs. Mercer, 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 5
Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally, 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 6
Mocs Volleyball vs. Mercer, 6 p.m. on Friday, November 6
Mocs Football vs. Mercer, 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7

As you consider hosting an event, we encourage you to look for opportunities to add to the Homecoming experience during dates and times when programming is not already scheduled. Our goal is to create a well-rounded week of opportunities while minimizing competing Homecoming events.

Have a Homecoming Event Planned? Submit It!

If your department or office is planning an event that intentionally connects to Homecoming and/or the MOCS2K theme, we encourage you to submit it for consideration for the official Homecoming calendar and marketing materials.

We are especially interested in events that:

Create opportunities for the UTC community to connect, celebrate, and demonstrate Moc spirit.
Meaningfully incorporate UTC traditions, Homecoming, or the MOCS2K theme.
Provide programming during dates and times when other Homecoming events are not already scheduled.
Reach an audience or provide an experience that complements the existing Homecoming schedule.

At this time, we are only looking for events sponsored by UTC campus departments.

Event Submission Deadlines

Priority Deadline: Friday, September 25, 2026, by 6 p.m.
Events submitted by the priority deadline will be considered for inclusion in printed Homecoming marketing materials and the online Homecoming calendar.

Final Deadline: Friday, October 9, 2026, by 6 p.m.
Events submitted after the priority deadline but by the final deadline will be considered for inclusion on the online Homecoming calendar only.

Because printed materials must be developed in advance, events submitted after September 25 cannot be considered for printed Homecoming marketing materials.

Have an Idea but Need Some Help? Or Willing to Host and Event but Need Some Ideas?

You do not have to have everything figured out before getting involved. If your department would like to contribute to Homecoming but needs help developing an idea, connecting an existing program to Homecoming or the MOCS2K theme, or identifying a day or time that would complement the existing schedule, connect with the Center for Student Leadership, Engagement, and Community at [email protected]. How Events Are Selected

All submissions will be reviewed by the University Homecoming Committee. Submission does not automatically guarantee inclusion on the official Homecoming calendar or in Homecoming marketing materials.

When reviewing events, the committee will consider:

The event's connection to the purpose and spirit of Homecoming.
The event's connection to the MOCS2K theme, when applicable.
How the event complements the existing Homecoming schedule.
The intended audience and contribution to a well-rounded week of programming.
Scheduling conflicts with existing Homecoming events.
Available space within printed and digital Homecoming marketing materials.
