Emily is the Assistant Director of Advocacy and Education for the Center for Women and Gender Equity. Her primary responsibilities include working with people who have experienced or are experiencing gender based violence to advocate for their needs and providing education on interpersonal violence prevention. Emily earned her Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Illinois State University in 2018, where she continued her education to receive her Masters of Science in College Student Personnel Administration in 2020. For her graduate assistantship during her Masters, she worked with Equity, Compliance, and Achievement at Heartland Community College to develop violence prevention and equity programming and professional development. Emily is passionate about advocating for equity in higher education, values-based violence prevention work, and working with and educating on the needs of the LGBTQIAP+/queer community. In her free time, Emily loves to read, watch television, and try new local coffee shops.
