Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) is a nationally recognized procedure that provides an alternative method to assess and award college credit for learning that is gained outside the traditional classroom (i.e., work, military education, seminars, training programs, certification programs, volunteer or community service). It is a tailored program, so results can vary.
Prior Learning Assessment by Portfolio Credit is a method in which currently admitted students can provide evidence of acquired college-level learning (i.e. certificates, training program, etc.). To document this evidence, a student who qualifies for this program can opt to enroll in INTS 3010, Prior Learning Portfolio Development class, or compile the Prior Learning Portfolio on their own.

*If you enroll at UTC as a visiting/transient student, you can still take INTS 3010. For more information about visiting/transient admissions, please visit http://www.utc.edu/admissions/visiting.php.
