Want to Request an Event?
The Clarence T. Jones Observatory’s mission is to engage students, inspire change, and enrich our community through astronomy education and outreach events. Currently, because our staff is limited in our ability to accommodate every group that requests to visit, we have established a form to process inquiries and a priority for reviewing requests. The groups we will prioritize are the following and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis:
- Chattanooga Area Schools (with emphasis on grades 7-12)
- UTC Student Groups
- Other educational/community groups
At this time, we are unable to accommodate requests for private events (weddings, personal tours, etc.). We still encourage interested parties to complete the form, as that will allow us to collect data on the total number of requests for the facility over the course of a year. We can use that data to inform our future decision-making as time and staff availability allow.
