Dr. Gardner is a nationally recognized expert in post-college employment trends and Director of the College Employment Research Institute at Michigan State University. One of the benefits often associated with participation in experiential learning programs is the value employers place on the skills and competencies gained from the experience. This session will present current findings from research on employers regarding their values for experiential learning and key competencies needed in new college hires. We will also explore issues related to students’ abilities to reflect upon and articulate professional competencies from their experiences.
