Stan Davis Scholarship

Stan Davis helped further the professional aspirations of many accounting and finance majors as well as MBA and EMBA students during his years here at UTC.
His unexpected passing left a big hole in many hearts. His enthusiasm and generosity toward his students, fellow faculty and the local accounting community will be greatly missed. Many of his friends, students, alumni and colleagues have asked what they can do to honor Stan's memory as a professor and valued member of the UTC family.
With thoughtful consideration and the support of Stan's immediate family, UTC has established a special fund in Stan's memory. The Stan Davis Classroom Fund will allow us to fulfill one of Stan's fondest wishes for Fletcher Hall, the renovation and upgrade of accounting classrooms.
Stan was passionate about his teaching. UTC and the students enrolled in his classes have benefitted greatly from this enthusiasm. Stan was adamant in his desire to upgrade the accounting classroom to provide a richer environment for learning. For those of us who worked and studied under Stan and counted him as a friend and colleague, this is our opportunity to honor his legacy at UTC and provide our students with a better atmosphere in which to learn.
Specifically, gifts to this fund will be used to replace single unit desks with tables and better chairs – as Stan had wished. Gifts will allow students better use of space for textbooks, notebooks, tablets or computers, and calculators. Technology and classroom lighting upgrades are planned as well, to provide a better environment for learning and teaching.
Our goal is to update at least one classroom, Fletcher 311, which was directly across from Stan's office and often used by him. It is a classroom that is utilized often by all COB professors. So, your support will benefit many students and professors.
A special plaque will honor the donors and the memory to Dr. Davis in the classroom updated with these funds. All gifts are tax deductible. Thank you for your support of UTC and for your consideration of a gift to this fund.
