Glass Drive for New Oak Street Residence Hall
The Environmental Studies program is partnering with the SGA Sustainability Committee, Tinker Ma Architects, and local glass recycling company Overlooked Materials to turn your old glass into the new lobby floor of the Oak Street Residence Hall!
Bring your empty, clean teriyaki sauce, strawberry jam, and pickle jars to the bright yellow collection bins located at Stacy Town Center and the UC Roundabout (directly across from the E-Sports Complex). (See graphics on the flier below for full details of what can and cannot go into the bins.)
This glass will be diverted from the landfill and be used to create sustainable, artistic concrete features in the lobby floor of the new Oak Street Residence Hall. All glass colors are accepted, but dark blue glass is in high demand (Go Mocs!). The bins are open to any and all UTC students, faculty, and community members! Bins will be available for glass collection from now until the start of Spring Break.
Special thanks to Hannah Stone, UTC senior and member of SGA's Sustainability Committee, for her work on this project!
