Dr. Sigrid Luther, Professor Emeritus of Music at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Louisiana State University and is active as soloist, collaborative pianist, clinician on the topic of keyboard skills, and adjudicator.  Dr. Luther developed the Piano Pedagogy major at Bryan College, organized and co-advised the MTNA Chattanooga Area Collegiate Chapter (2004 MTNA Collegiate Chapter of the Year), and founded the Bryan College Community Music School for which she chaired the Rhea County Community Music Festival.   She has received outstanding teaching awards from Bryan College, the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, the Chattanooga Music Teachers Association (Teacher of the Year 1983, 1995), and the Tennessee Music Teachers Association (Teacher of the Year 1995).  She also received the 2009 TMTA Distinguished Service Award.  She has held numerous positions at the local, state, division and national levels of MTNA, most recently national vice-president, and has been named MTNA Foundation Fellow. She retired from her full time position at Bryan College in May, 2014 after 36 years. 

She is married to baritone David Luther, and accompanied the Bryan Chorale under his direction on numerous US and international tours.  She has also served as guest left hand artist for well-known pedagogue Ingrid Clarfield on seven occasions. She has two married daughters and five grandchildren. She is pianist at First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga.
