Implementing the new Strategic Planning:

  • Process led by the Provost.
  • Identify support staff to collect & analyze data, build a dashboard, collect and collate information from various survey instruments, manage document production in different formats and manage logistics for meetings and broader audience participation sessions.
  • Working task force led by the Provost and comprised of faculty, staff, community, students and alumni.
  • Periodic review sessions with the Chancellor, the executive vice chancellor for finance, operations and information technology, Richard Brown, and the vice chancellor for student development, John Delaney.
  • Periodic reporting sessions with Deans and executive team.
  • Breakout sessions led by task force members  to develop the key strategies.
  • Small breakout sessions with various audiences that impact UTC in achieving its strategic goals.
  • Use of survey tools to gain reactions and test specific concepts.
  • Develop ongoing communication tools that will update the strategic plan as developed and after implemented. This approach will integrate the plan into the overall University activities and maintain constituent support.
  • Develop metrics that align with the strategic outcomes and identify clear examples of how the initiatives are being implemented..
  • Look at each initiative in terms of integration of people, resources and outcomes. This will lead to greater application, ownership and accountability. As an example, under student success, one outcome might be improved retention and that touches teaching, housing, financial support, student services, mentoring and applied research.
