4/17/2014- Dr. Randy Walker honored-
Congratulations to Dr. Randy Walker, Dean of the Graduate School and former Department Head. Dr. Walker was honored with the Carolyn Thompson and Roger Brown Award for Community Engagement at this year's Faculty Awards Celebration.

2/3/2014 Faculty, Students and Alumni present at CSM 2014
UTC DPT faculty, students and recent alumni participated in seven presentations at the 2014 Combined Sections Meeting held February 3-6, in Las Vegas, NV.
The Tennessee Physical Therapy Association visited with State Senator Bo Watson at a recent event and thanked him for his service. 1/23/2014 UTC PT Alumnus of the Year Recognized
Two UTC DPT alumni were recognized at the 2014 PT Forum. Jeannette Davis, '93 was named the 2014 UTC PT Alumnus of the Year and Harvey Hillyer, '94 was recognized as the 2013 Alumnus of the Year. They are pictured here with Dr. Debbie Ingram, Interim Department Head.

UTC DPT students participated in the professional image fashion show at the APTA National Student Conclave in Louisville, KY in October. Pictured with them is Paul Rockar, President of the APTA.
8/23/2013 Faculty Member Teaches Abroad
Dr. Cathie Smith (pictured here with some of her students) taught a course this summer at Anglo-American University. The course, Management 359 / 559 - Professional Behavior in Organizations, was offered as an elective during the summer term in the Masters in Business and Law in International Markets and the Business Administration programs. Anglo-American University (AAU) is the oldest private higher education institution in the Czech Republic. Located in the historic Old Town region of Prague, AAU provides accredited bachelors’ and masters’ education programs in the areas of business, humanities, social sciences, journalism, law and international relations and diplomacy. Founded as a non-profit university soon after the fall of communism, AAU recruits students from over 60 countries to engage in courses taught in the English language designed to uphold the best American and British academic traditions. AAU shares joint graduate and undergraduate programs with several British and American Universities, and it is the first international university invited to apply for accreditation by the U.S.-based Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) .Dr. Smith holds a Senior Lecturer faculty appointment at AAU.
2/19/2013 TPTA Day on the Hill-
UTC students and faculty participated in the 2013 Tennessee Physical Therapy Day on the Hill . State Senator Bo Watson met with the students in the Senate Chamber and emphasized the importance of advocacy for our patients and profession.
12/15/2012 Transition DPT graduates
Ten transition DPT students graduated in December 2012. Graduates of the 100% online program traveled from as far as Florida and California to take part in the ceremony.
10/8/2012 TPTA Fall Meeting held in Chattanooga
UTC DPT Faculty and students met with State Senator Bo Watson and Congressman Chuck Fleischmann at the TPTA Fall Meeting in Chattanooga.
6/22/2012 Faculty Member Teaches Abroad
Dr. Cathie Smith taught a course this summer at Anglo American University. The combined UG / Grad course titled Topics in Global Health Management was offered through the Business Department at Anglo American University as an elective for Business Administration majors and the Masters in Business and Law in International Markets students. The students were from 7 countries: Belarus, Czech Republic, Finland, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the USA.
6/22/2012 Faculty and new alumni meet up in Ireland
Four 2012 grads from the entry-level cohort went trekking around Ireland, Scotland and England for 3 weeks following graduation. Dr. Cathie Smith met up with them in Dublin, Ireland one morning for breakfast at a quaint Irish pub before the four took off to tour Ireland, and they had a great time sharing travel experiences. Pictured with Dr. Smith are grads Kat Borsch, Sarah Burkhart, Elizabeth Harding and Stefanie Taphouse.

2/23/2012 Physical Therapy faculty receive Stanford Award
UTC PT faculty members Nancy Fell and Debbie Ingram received the Stanford Award at the 2012 American Physical Therapy Association Meeting in Chicago. The award is given to the authors whose manuscript has been identified by the Journal of Physical Therapy Education Editorial Advisory Board as the article containing the most influential ideas for physical therapy education published in that year. Two faculty from the University of North Dakota collaborated with them on the manuscript, titled “The Case for Academic Integrity in Physical Therapist Education.”

Oxford Debate- DPT III Students debated on the topic of Direct Access to Physical Therapy Services.
