5 Steps to Financial Aid @ UTC

Step 1: Complete and e-Sign the FAFSA on the Web.

  • Available at www.fafsa.ed.gov – Remember, the FAFSA is FREE – do not allow anyone to charge you for submission.
  • The student and the parent (if dependent) must both sign the FAFSA.  E-signature is recommended with the FAFSA PIN. www.pin.ed.gov
  • Continuing Students will have the option to pre-fill their FAFSA on the Web.

Step 2: Submit all requested documents to the Financial Aid Office.

  • UTC's federal school code is 003529.
  • If the student is selected for Verification, we may request prior year tax documents.  Check your MocsNet account to see your requirements. Guide to Accessing Your Financial Aid on MocsNet
  • Other documentation may be requested as necessary via your MocsNet.

Step 3: Accept your Financial Aid awards.

  • From your MocsNet, select Student Information, enter your Secure ID (SID), then choose My Financial Aid.  “Offered” awards require action by the student.
  • If you are a new Stafford Loan borrower, you will be prompted to review borrower benefits and choose a lender at this time.
  • Some awards are time-sensitive and may be cancelled after 30 days of student inactivity.

Step 4: Got loans? Complete all loan-related requirements.

Step 5: Accept your charges with the Bursar’s Office.

  • Log into your MocsNet, enter your Secure ID (SID), then choose Moc's Express Statement.
    • Follow the instructions as listed.
  • OR Return the statement mailed to you with your Moc’s Express Statement.
