Welcome To Smart Communications and Analysis

Welcome to the Smart Communications and Analysis Lab (SCAL). At SCAL, we leverage our expertise on error control coding and big analysis for communication and information processing-related problems in wireless sensor networks and smart applications such as smart grid and smart health and well-being. Directed by Mina Sartipi, SCAL focuses on research in the following topics:

  • Urban Science and Urban Analytics
  • Data Acquisition and Compressive Sensing
  • Data Integration, Data Interoperability, Big Data Analytics
  • Smart Health
  • Smart Grid
  • Intelligent Transportation
  • Information Processing for Wireless Sensor Networks
  • Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)
  • Modern Error Control Coding and Information Theory
  • Signal Processing and Wavelet Transform

*Multiple PhD positions are open for application in my research group in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. This PhD program will immediately start in August of 2016. The candidates should have strong background in computer science, data science, mathematics, and statistics. Please contact Dr. Mina Sartipi (mina-sartipi@utc.edu) for the detailed information about the PhD program and the application requirements.
