The beginning of the semester means adjusting to a lot of newness: schedules, people, goals...the pace of everyday life can feel like warp speed and leave us struggling to keep up. Studies show learning to PAUSE in the midst of a chaotic situation can help curb escalating stress and redirect our attention. Focused attention supports efficiency and creativity in our actions. Today, we will learn a few ways to pause amidst the chaos and excitement of our busy days, and use sending a note to a loved one as a way to redirect our attention to the present moment. Pause with us and send a personalized postcard to a friend. Join the Center for Mindful Living, UTC Center for Student Wellbeing and UTC Counseling Center on Tuesday, January 7th from 1pm - 3pm at the University Center Lobby Tables for a mindful moment aimed to practice our pause, redirect mind, practice reaching out, practice gratitude and focus attention.
