Who is Eligible for a BMOC Scholarship?
The BMOC Scholarship is a financial incentive to promote the academic success of students
participating in the Black Males Initiative program. The scholarship is not a guaranteed
award for being a BMOC. Scholarship recipients are selected based on the number of
points earned by meeting the following criteria.

Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.70 or better;

Must be active in BMOC services and activities;

Must complete at least one financial education program yearly; and

Must demonstrate leadership skills and/or volunteering.
How Do I Apply?
You complete an application to request a BMOC Scholarship. Applications are available in our office and on Blackboard a month before the start of each semester. This is a one-time award for the fall or spring semester.
How Much Money Can I Get?
The scholarship award is $1,000 for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Complete 2 SSS financial literacy modules and deliver to our office. You can download the modules from the SSS Blackboard website. Modules can also be found in the SSS Resource Library.

In a group – attend a workshop provided by SSS addressing financial aid, money management, personal budgeting and more.

One-on-One – set up an appointment with SSS Staff for a personal discussion of your financial situation.
