Student Media Organizations
UTC maintains four active student media organizations that are collaboratively advised by the Office of the Dean of Students, the Department of Communication & the English Department.
The University Echo
Each organization is entirely staffed and produced by UTC Students. Click the links below to learn more about each of our student media organizations.
UTC’s literary magazine, The Sequoya Review is published yearly and has won many regional and national awards. All students, faculty & staff are invited to submit material to be considered for publication. Material (poetry, short stories, essays, photographs and artwork) is collected in the Fall through the English Department and published in the Spring.
The Perch is UTC’s web based, student-run radio station. The Perch seeks to offer UTC students commercial radio experience in programming, marketing, production, station imaging and how to be live on-air radio personalities via the Internet. The Perch is committed to broadcast fair and ethical programming for diverse audiences. The Perch staff will focus on the educational experience of the station while empowering listeners through unique and entertaining programming.
The University Echo is a student publication that seeks to accurately, ethically and thoroughly report on news, sports, features and opinions in relation to the issues and events specific to The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Chattanooga community in a fair, clear and truthful manner.
