The Division is made up of various offices and departments, collaboratively working to benefit the student experience at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Each work hard to ensure that the core values of the division shine throughout their programs and services.

As a department within the Division for Student Development, UTC Campus Recreation provides holistic experiences that educate and empower members of the university community and Chattanooga community.   By offering a wide variety of recreational opportunities, UTC Campus Recreation seeks to enhance the experiences of those we serve by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Center for Women & Gender Equity at UTC is committed to creating a community of diverse and empowered students through the following core values:

The mission of the Office of the Dean of Students is to advance the mission of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Division of Student Development. It is the mission of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to provide leadership for creating a proactive culture of disability awareness on our campus and in our community.  By creating partnerships with a broad diversity of people, the DRC facilitates in the removal of barriers and creation of an accessible environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to our campus.  The DRC provides opportunities for education and advocacy by helping to promote independence and growth for our students, supporting our university’s core values.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is home to 25 fraternities and sororities, in which over 1400 students are active members.   There are three councils that serve as the governing and advocacy bodies for these organizations.   Please take a few moments to explore the Dean of Students website to learn more about UTC Fraternity & Sorority Life, the organizations represented and the unique experience that is offered to students through membership.

The UTC Healthy Living Initiative Taskforce is a team of professionals from campus and the community working together to form partnerships and raise awareness about the seven dimensions of wellness, the benefits of increased physical activity, and the causes and prevention strategies used to fight chronic disease.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is committed to enhancing the academic, social, personal, and professional development of all students through programming, support and activities. The Student Conduct system is an administrative process for reviewing alleged violations of the University’s Student Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures; it is not a civil or criminal court process. The process utilizes formal investigation and hearing procedures to adjudicate alleged violations of University policy and procedures, as determined by the preponderance of the evidence standard. The Office of Student Conduct (OSC) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the process.

The Office of Student Outreach & Support (SOS) advocates and supports students experiencing challenges in their personal and/or academic lives. SOS staff help students navigate University administrative processes; connect with University and community resources; and develop coping, resiliency, and self-advocacy skills. SOS also educates faculty and staff on how to work with students of concern, including how and when to make appropriate referrals.

The University Center, or UC, is the central hub of the UTC campus, containing offices, dining facilities, the campus bookstore, and meeting spaces for campus departments and student organizations.  With nearly 200,000 square feet of space, the UC is active both day and night with the comings and goings of campus.  We hope you will stop by and visit our facility the next time you are on campus.

The mission of Veteran Student Services is to serve as a centralized source of support for all student Veterans and student members of Military Families. Veteran Student Services offers individual guidance, information dissemination, and referrals pertaining to all aspects of student life. Veteran Student Services develops and implements student program, both social and educational, recognizing that student Veterans have needs and interests that differ from those of traditional students. Veteran Student Services offers programs to the UTC community at large that increase awareness of student Veteran issues. We offer a quiet study space located near the game room in the University Center for those that need a place to themselves to study.
