NASP Approved Program
The University of Tennessee Chattanooga's School Psychology Ed.S. program is a NASP approved program. Our school psychology program adheres to the NASP Standards for Graduate Preparation of School Psychologists. Being a NASP approved program indicates a quality education featuring comprehensive content in the field of school psychology, extensive and properly supervised field experiences and internships. By being a NASP approved program, it allows graduates a quicker and easier progress of obtaining the Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential.
The program requires students to demonstrate an understanding of the foundations for all services provided by school psychologists as identified by NASP (2010):
Appendix A. Model of Comprehensive and Integrated Services by School Psychologists

These foundations are interwoven in the program coursework, practica, and internship requirements and reflected through the requirement that professional competencies as related to knowledge and skills in the standards of school psychology practice be demonstrated by students (NASP, 2010, Appendix A above).
