Supporting Business and Industry in Chattanooga and Beyond

The SimCenter research team has developed highly advanced technologies and software tools capable of solving a broad range of complex engineering problems. These developments have led to some important contributions to local businesses. In 2009, the SimCenter helped US Xpress lead a transformation of the U.S. long-haul trucking industry by improving fuel economy by 10%. In 2010, our team helped Tuftco, Inc. of Chattanooga achieve a 44% to 68% reduction in power consumption in their new carpet manufacturing machines. The SimCenter is eager to continue and expand these engagements with regional businesses to help them develop new and improved product designs, to reduce energy and manufacturing costs, and to improve their bottoms lines.
