I wanted to reach out to you all with an opportunity.  In an effort to stretch University funds as far as possible, that is, save money, we are consolidating all computer purchases to Dell and Apple into one order to each vendor.  We are doing this in hopes of getting much better pricing. This savings will reduce the amount that comes out of your department budget.  When we did this in June we saved almost $7,000. 

Let me be clear funding for the computers will still come out of your departmental budget. The university is not centrally funding this.
