Announcing the Formation of the International Albertus Magnus Society

  Albertus Magnus

  The Society expects to:

  • Facilitate communication among scholars worldwide interested in the work of Albertus Magnus (d. 1280)—renowned medieval philosopher, theologian, and natural scientist

  • provide a gateway to current research and scholarship on Albertus Magnus

  • list conferences of interest for members

  • produce an electronic newsletter

  • provide a platform in the future for the publication of contemporary scholarship on Albertus Magnus in electronic format


A first business meeting, designed to firmly establish the International Albertus Magnus Society, will be held at the 50th International Congress on Medieval Studies (14-17 May, 2015) at Western Michigan University. For conference information and registration, see
