Dr. Key began her nursing career in pediatrics, spending most of her bedside nursing in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Since graduating from the MSN program, she has spent the majority of her clinical time in adolescent/young adult care and school based health. While she was working on her DNP, she began teaching in addition to maintaining her clinical practice- becoming an adjunct professor for UTC for two years in the MSN program. She spent three years as course faculty for Frontier Nursing University- teaching the MSN students in the Women's Health, Midwifery, and Family Nurse Practitioner concentrations. In 2018, she returned to UTC as the Director of University Health Services with a bonus of having faculty responsibilities within the UTC School of Nursing. Her primary academic responsibilities are within the MSN programs with the FNP and ACNP students. She enjoys engaging with her students in both the clinical and academic roles that she holds.
