Dr. Scott Monterde completed his Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga (UTC) in 2015. His Translational Research Project was titled: Implementation of an Evidence-Based Parturient-Controlled Epidural Analgesia (PCEA) Educational Program in a Labor & Delivery Unit. Dr. Monterde also completed his Master’s degree in the Nurse Anesthesia Concentration at UTC in 2000. In his practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Dr. Monterde has worked in virtually every setting where anesthesia services are needed, but his interest in obstetric anesthesia led to this specialty area being the focus of his doctoral studies, and continues to be his primary area of practice. Dr. Monterde also has an interest in nurse anesthesia education and previously served as the Assistant Program Coordinator for the UTC Nurse Anesthesia Concentration (NAC). He continues to serve as adjunct faculty in the in the NAC. He practices full-time as a CRNA with Anesthesiologists Consultants Exchange, PC at Erlanger Health System.
