Dr. Bernadette DePrez received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2014. She received an MBA degree and an MSN-Healthcare Administration degree from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. Dr. DePrez most recently served as the chief operating officer (COO) and chief nursing officer (CNO) at Tennova Healthcare-Cleveland. As the COO/CNO she was responsible for all clinical departments both nursing and non-nursing. Additionally, she served as the executive leader for electronic medical record conversion, evidence-based practice initiatives, and major building projects at Tennova. Her passion lies in system process change to improve patient outcomes. Recent projects for improving care include the implementation of chlorhexadine bathing in the critical care setting to reduce hospital acquired infections and enhanced recovery after laparoscopic colon surgery to decrease reliance on narcotics and reduce length of stay. Dr. DePrez has experience in medical/surgical, intensive care, hospice, and public health nursing.
