Marcy currently serves as the Evaluation Coordinator for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s School of Nursing Graduate Programs. Marcy recently completed a 3-year position as the Program and Evaluation Coordinator for the School of Nursing’s Federal HRSA grant, CRNA in 3D.
Prior to joining the grant team at the School of Nursing, she was the Senior Research Associate at UTC’s Center for Applied Social Research (CASR) and an adjunct professor of Sociology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), where she taught Research Methodology. During her four-year appointment at the CASR, she conducted more than two dozen studies for UTC ranging from program evaluation and needs assessment studies, to investigations regarding capital projects, program development, employee diversity training, and workplace diversity.
Additionally, Marcy has served as an evaluation consultant on projects for community organizations, educational institutions, municipal, state, and federal agencies. She currently serves as the External Program Evaluator on awarded grants for the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, Chattanooga State Community College, and the Greater Chattanooga Community Foundation.
Porter received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Education Degree from UTC, and is a doctoral candidate in UTC’s Learning and Leadership program. She is the author of numerous published reports and academic journal articles, and frequently presents podium presentations, workshops, and research posters at professional conferences.
