General Scholarship Information

UTC Campus Recreation believes that all people deserve the right to play, recreate, connect with others, and pursue holistic wellness.  The camp experience and the act of play have the amazing ability to break down economic, racial, geographic, religious, ethnic, and social barriers.  UTC Campus Recreation's Mocs Adventure Camp celebrates diversity and actively promotes understanding between people.  Open-hearted children become open-minded adults.  UTC Campus Recreation offers four full or partial scholarship opportunities per session.  

Important Scholarship Information:

  • The Summer Camp Scholarship Committee may reach out to you to ask clarifying questions regarding your application.
  • The scholarship program does not cover lunches and snacks for campers.  Parent(s)/Guardian will need to provide a lunch and two snacks for each day of camp.
  • The Early Drop Off and After Hours Programs are not included in the scholarship program.  Parent(s)/Guardian will need to purchase the Early Drop off and/or After Hour programs for the camper to arrive prior to 8:30 a.m. or to stay past 4:15 p.m.
  • Only one scholarship opportunity may be awarded per child for the summer.
  • Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  The timely submission of the scholarship application will assist in the likelihood of receiving a scholarship.
  • Scholarships are reviewed and awarded by UTC Campus Recreation's Summer Camp Committee.
  • Scholarships are not available for the Young Mocs CIT program.

Scholarship Recipient Criteria

  • Camper exhibits financial need
  • Camper is excited and wants to participate in camp
  • Copy of most current tax filing
  • Gross household income of <40K
  • A recommendation letter (May not be written by the parent/guardian)
  • Camper is a rising Kindergartener, 1st 2nd 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grader
  • Camper's parent(s)/guardian supports their attendance at camp
  • Camper has no history of behavioral problems that have resulted in removal from school or another camp
  • Timely submission of the Scholarship Application
