Room Policies and Details

General Room Policies

Rooms can be reserved by UTC faculty, staff, and students only. Please reserve early. We require at least 24 hours to process special room requests.

Arriving for Your Reservation

  • When you arrive for your reservation, present your MocsCard at the first floor Check Out Desk to pick up your room key.
  • The person making the reservation must be the one who picks up the key.
  • Reservations will be forfeited for no-shows after 15 minutes.

Room Use

  • Please keep noise levels down out of consideration for others studying nearby.
  • You may bring food and drink into rooms, but please be neat and clean up after yourself.
  • If you rearrange the seating in the room, please put it back as you found it when you are done.
  • Do not move furnishings in or out of the rooms.
  • When you leave the room, please turn off all technology, screens, projectors, computers.
  • UTC Library is not responsible for personal items left unattended in rooms.
  • Library staff reserve the right to enter rooms at any time.

By reserving a room at UTC Library, you agree to abide by these policies. Failure to comply with room reservation policies may result in loss of room reservation privileges.

Guidelines for Study Room Use:

  • Small rooms can be reserved online (UTCID and password required).
  • Reservations can be made all semester long.
  • Study rooms are intended for group use.
  • Rooms can be reserved for up to 3 hours per day.
  • Reservations will be forfeited for no-shows after 15 minutes.
  • Overdue study room key fines are $3.00 per hour. Lost keys are $50.
  • The individual who makes the reservation is responsible for picking up the key and for any fines or fees.

  • Most reservations run 30 min to 3 hours, longer blocks considered on a case by case basis.
  • Reservations will be forfeited for no-shows after 15 minutes.

  • Reserved via an online request form.
  • Most reservations run 30 min to 3 hours, longer blocks will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Meeting rooms are not intended for regularly scheduled classes or semester long bookings.
    • Multiple bookings will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Rooms have various technology including projectors, LCDs and media hubs. Please include your technology needs on the request form in order to insure you are booked in a room that fulfills your needs.

Guidelines for Computer Lab Requests:

  • Available to UTC faculty and staff only.
  • The Computer Lab is intended for events that require each participant to have a workstation. If your participants do not need workstations, please request a study or meeting room.
  • The Computer Lab is not available for semester-long classes.
    • Multiple bookings will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Review list of software available on the workstations.
