Chief Technology Officer
The UTC Chief Technology Officer is responsible for the technical infrastructure operation services at UTC. These include engineering, procurement, installation and 24X7 operation of the technical hardware, systems and services to support the UTC IT Mission of providing IT services to the campus that are available, reliable, and responsive to the needs of the campus in a very cost effective manner as delegated by the UTC Chief Information Officer.
IT Infrastructure, under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer includes Telecommunications, Network Services, Data Center, and Enterprise Applications. These behind the scenes departments provide the technology to make the "IT magic" happen for students, faculty, and staff allowing them to leverage the benefits of technology to meet the University mission of teaching, research and service.
What specifically are we talking about in behind the scenes support? The information technology portfolio consisting of all the copper wires, fibers, routers, servers, data storage, enterprise wide services, (email, data storage, student systems, card access, UTC web pages, identity management) wireless access points, power, HVAC needed to make things work when anyone connects to the UTC networks for voice or data services.
