Lisa Darger teaches UHON 2850 – Innovation Lab I and UHON 2860 – Innovation Lab II, and currently serves as UTC’s campus Sustainability Coordinator. She began her professional career with the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce, working in community and economic development. She completed her Dual Masters in Public Administration and Urban and Regional Planning at Florida State University. As a Presidential Management Intern in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. Department of Interior, she eventually oversaw the Office of Scheduling and Marketing at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center, the premiere training campus for natural resource conservations in the world. Most recently, she served as the Director of Energy Management and Education for one of the largest public schools districts in the State of Indiana, where she was awarded the U.S. Senator Bob Lugar Energy Patriot award for realizing over $3.3 million in energy savings. A founding member of the Sustainable Professionals of Greater Chattanooga, Ms. Darger has presented numerous times on behalf of UTC with regard to energy management and sustainability, most recently at the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Math Summit.
