Youth Arts Institute: Theatrical Production and Design Track
For students in rising 4th -12th grades

An enriching three-week intensive program in set and costume design and theatrical production. Students will have the opportunity to use their own creativity to design for The Lion King Experience while working under the guidance of professional artists and designers.
Meet the Camp Faculty

Design Instructor: Adam Miecielica
Adam Miecielica received his MFA in Scenic Design and Technical Production from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He has worked professionally designing and working on tech for many theatres across the country including The Santa Fe Opera in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Northern Stage in White River Junction, Vermont, and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison, New Jersey. Adam was Visiting Professor of Scenic Design at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas before coming to UTC.

Design Instructor: Joel Baxley
Joel has worked as an artist and a teacher in a variety of settings. He has created commercial art and design for print and electronic media, designs for stage productions, and works of fine art for show and commission. He has taught children and adults including experiences as an art specialist, a college instructor, and a teaching administrator. He has presented on visual art and arts integration nationally, including the Annenberg Connecting with the Arts workshop series.
