Dr. Joanne Romagni
Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of the Graduate School

Dr. Joanne Romagni began her position as Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of the Graduate School in July, 2015. Dr. Romagni previously worked with DePaul University as Associate Vice Chancellor of Research. Romagni received her PhD from Arizona State University in Plant Biology, and is well published and has recieved a number of federal, state and local grants.
Dr. Romagni’s vision is to focus on collaboration and foster relationships. Alsom she is excited about expanding both graduate and undergraduate research.
She explained that she has seen first-hand how research can spark passion in a student. She has watched students transform from a C average to an A when they become engaged in what they study.
Romagni added, “They end up being the ones who go to medical school or graduate school and go on to be the professionals because of these experiences.”
