Mady Hazen (Peer Mentor Leader)

Hi guys! I’m Mady, I’m going to be a sophomore this year, and I bleed blue and gold. I am involved in SGA and ThinkAchieve on campus. My major is social work and I am passionate about working with people. But more than anything, I am passionate about you! I hope through the First Year Experience class you find UTC to be more like home than you thought.  I know I have! Get excited for some awesome experiences. Go mocs!

Kayla Allen

Hi! My name is Kayla Allen and I am a Senior here at UTC. My major is early childhood education with and endorsement in special education. When I'm not at school or working as a host at Beast and Barrel in Northshore, I love to run and take advantage of all the outdoor activities Chattanooga and UTC has to offer. UTC has been the best three (almost four) years of my life and I can't wait to share everything I've learned and gained from UTC with all of the incoming freshman. Last but not least, GO MOCS!

Graham Alexander

I graduated from Lexington High School in 2013 and I am now a Junior here at UTC. My major is Political Science and I serve as a representative of the student body in the Student Government Association. This upcoming year will be my second year helping with the First Year Experience program as a Peer Mentor. I am also a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and I am a Resident Assistant in Stophel. I love UTC and I never regret making the decision to attend. I am very thankful for having been able to grow and become involved within the university. I strive every single day to make myself and the university better for years to come. In short, I'm your average, everyday Moc. #GoMocs

 Kelsey Weaver

Hi, I'm Kelsey Weaver! I'm from Dickson, TN where I graduated from Dickson County High School in 2013. I am a Senior majoring in Business: General Management and minoring in Sociology. In addition to my involvement in the First Year Experience as a Peer Mentor, I am extremely excited to be serving you all as the student body President. I am also a Chancellor's Ambassador, a member at the BCM, and a student representative on many university committees. I also work as a Project Management Intern at McKee Foods where I get to eat a lot of Little Debbie cakes. When not attending school or work, I love to spend time with my fiancé and our dog! UTC is more than a place to earn my degree, it's a home. Being a moc has been nothing shy of amazing so far, and I can't wait to continue my adventure here. Serving this campus is what I love, and I can think of no better way to do that than to be a part of encouraging the growth of new students through this program and their entire experience here at UTC.

Sami John

My name is Sami John and I'm from Gatlinburg, TN. I'm starting my senior year at UTC and am double majoring in Business Marketing and General Management. I am the Vice President of Active Minds: an organization dedicated to changing the perception about mental health. I enjoy playing sports, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. I play both open women’s basketball and flag football intramurals at UTC. Because certain aspects of the transition from high school to college were challenging for me, I became a peer mentor so I can help others overcome these obstacles in order to enjoy their college careers to the fullest extent.

Patrick Parker

My name is Patrick Parker. I am a Junior majoring in Interior Design with a minor in business. I am involved in Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. Being a Moc is an awesome experience and that is part of why I became a peer mentor. I want to share my experiences here at UTC as well as things I wish I would have known to enhance the incoming freshman class's experience. I look forward to meeting our mentees soon. Go MOCS!!!!

Noble Langley Orie

I am also thrilled to be a Peer Mentor.  I would love to help incoming freshman as much as possible and make their transition into college a smooth and easy one. I cannot wait to meet you all and see you on campus!

Sara Leach

Hey, guys! I'm a Psychology major with a History minor. I have no idea what I'm going to do with that, but fake it till you make it. I really didn't know how to feel about UTC, but now I can't picture being anywhere else. I'm very passionate about this program, and I'm eager to learn from and help my future mentees. I'm going to end with "GO MOCS", since you'll be hearing that on the regular.

Hey y’all! My name is Melanie Martin (but everyone calls me Mel), and I am a Junior majoring in Psychology with a French minor.  I’m hoping to go to grad school in England to pursue a doctorate in Sports Psychology to hopefully one day work with soccer teams in the UK. I currently work as the Student Assistant Director for the Honors College and in the summer I will be an Orientation Leader for the second summer in a row so make sure to say hi!  I’m not from Tennessee; I was born in Winston-Salem, NC and moved around a lot before college.  I’m a huge movie and food person and traveling is my favorite thing.  This is my second year as a Peer Mentor and I’m really excited to get to know my #UTC2021 freshmen students! Ashlyn Pack

Good morrow, UTC! My name is Ashlyn Pack, and I am a graduate from Creek Wood High School. I am currently a Psychology Major with an Education Minor. I plan on becoming a school counselor to work with students and faculty to improve our education systems for future generations. Starting my sophomore year, I will be an Innovations in Honors student, a HAM Peer Mentor, and President of the UTC Film Club. I plan to devote as much as I can to making the environment at UTC a pleasant one as well as making sure everyone has a steady support system in this time of transition. If you need absolutely anything, I will be there if I can be. College is hard, but no one here is alone.

Keavan Morton

Greetings, my fellow Mocs. First thing’s first, my name may have an unusual spelling, but it is pronounced like “Kevin.” However, many call me Kev to avoid confusion. I am from Columbia, TN, graduating from Independence High School in 2015, and now I am a sophomore at UTC majoring in physics. My dream job is to become an astrophysicist and work alongside the likes of Neil deGrasse Tyson. It would not hurt to become a high school teacher or professor either. I am an overall average Joe. I like long walks. I like donuts. I really like long walks with donuts. I am an active member of the High Achieving Mocs Living Learning Community, which has been a great opportunity. I only have one complete year at UTC under my belt, and I cannot wait to find out what the next three have in store. I look forward to being able to call these the best years of my life, and I look forward to being a helpful peer mentor.
