The UTC Music Department is home to five choruses and the Opera Workshop.  All UTC choruses are open to any student regardless of major.  UTC Choral Ensembles are divided into four levels.  Men's Chorus and Women's Chorale are open enrollment choruses that require no audition for admission.  You may contact the conductor of those choruses for information about them.  The Women's Chorale is conducted by Dr. Lee Harris and rehearses on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 AM until 11:50 AM.  The Men's Chorus is directed by Dr. Rebecca Atkins and also rehearses on Monday's and Wednesdays from 11:00 AM until 11:50 AM.

The second level chorus is the mixed concert choir, the Chattanooga Singers.  You may contact their director to set up an audition or sign up for an audition on the first two days of the semester.  Sign up lists will be posted beside the Choral Activities office at Cadek Hall 307.  You may contact the director, Dr. Kevin Ford, if you have any questions.  The most select chorus is the UTC Chamber Singers.  This is a small chorus that serves as the main touring choir for the department.  Membership is by audition which can be arranged by contacting the director, Dr. Kevin Ford.

The final choral ensemble only meets for a brief time each summer.  The Master Chorale is a select concert chorus made primarily of graduate students, advanced undergraduate students and advanced community member singers.  They serve as the laboratory chorus for graduate choral conducting students and meet for six weeks during the first summer short term each year.  Membership is by audition only.  Contact the director, Dr. Kevin Ford, to set up an audition.

The Opera Workshop is directed by Professor Perry Ward.  They perform full operatic productions regularly along with Opera Scenes concerts and a periodic collaboration with the UTC Theater Department in Music Theater Productions.  Membership in the Opera Theater Ensemble is open to all UTC students through audition with Professor Ward.
