- Since 2015, Takeo has served as the Executive Director for Center for Global Education at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Takeo has an extensive global network and he has visited and cultivated relationships with more than 35+ countries; including selecting study abroad locations, recruiting international students, developing and deploying student and faculty exchange agreements. He is fluent in English and Japanese with intermediate skills in Croatian. Takeo has worked as a TV reporter and he has a Master of Science in Global E-Learning and is currently completing his Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University in Boston.
Crossing Cultures-Best Practices For Working With International Students
This session will explore the challenges and difficulties international students face when adjusting to their new academic environment and how universities can improve their support of international students by providing first-year college experience classes and existing support service programs beyond traditional orientation and onboarding assistance. The presentation will be suitable for university staff and faculty, or students who are interested in working with international students in Higher Education in the future.
