- Kimberly Brooks attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Human Resource Management and a Master of Science degree in Education. She is pursuing an Ed. S degree in Advanced Education Practice: Instructional Leadership and will complete the program in December 2017.Kimberly has over 10 years of financial aid experience and currently works as an Assistant Director in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at UTC.
The Have's and the Have More's - Socioeconomic Diversity
Many times, the focus of diversity in schools and companies can be based on race, creed, color, national origin, sex or sexual orientation. What is often overlooked is socioeconomic diversity. Socioeconomic diversity is an important factor in education, particularly higher education. By focusing on socioeconomic diversity, school can attract and retain students from all backgrounds. We will discuss distinguishing factors of first generation pell-eligible college students, the role that financial aid plays and how we can better serve this distinct population.
