First Class

First Class will follow Convocation on Friday, August 13 around 11 am.

First Class: How to College is an opportunity for students to break out into groups the size of a typical class on campus. A UTC faculty/staff volunteer and a current student and will lead the group through a discussion about topics like: 

• preparing for the first week of the semester
• starting the semester strong
• interacting with professors in the classroom
• utilizing campus resources
• expectations for learning in and out of the classroom

In addition to these things, First Class will introduce students to the Read to Achieve program and upcoming events for the academic year.
