Healthy Campus 2020 provides objectives to assist participating campuses in improving the health of all students, staff, and faculty. Below is a summary of objectives for both populations. These objectives are accomplished over time and are the work of multiple departments. To determine the success of Healthy Campus here at UTC, it will be important for us to measure and track progress for faculty, staff and students.
The national student objectives are comprised of 11 topic areas and 54 objectives. Topics and objectives reflect the major public health concerns impacting college students in the United States and were chosen based on their ability to motivate action, the availability of data to measure progress, and their relevance as broad public health issues. For example, five objectives with the greatest combined frequency and severity of impact, based on data gathered by the ACHA-NCHA II college assessment, are an example of student objective inclusion: stress, sleep difficulties, anxiety, cold/flu/sore throat, and work.
