Documentation Guidelines
The DRC has adopted the AHEAD documentation guidelines. For information visit https://www.ahead.org/professional-resources/accommodations/documentation. In line with this guidance, documentation may or may not be necessary to put accommodations in place. We value the student's narrative of their lived experience and their perspective to begin our accommodations process. Any disability-related documentation you are able to provide may be helpful in determining reasonable accommodations and many students choose to upload documentation when connecting with our department, but this is not required to start the process. Documentation relating to disabilities will be regarded as confidential as defined by FERPA and the ADA-AA.
All requests are individualized and navigated through an interactive process. Please complete the online process and if we need further documentation for your request, we will help you with the next steps.
Any information disclosed, either in person or through documentation, about child abuse or sexual assault/interpersonal violence may be subject to mandatory reporting requirements, which means that confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. To speak confidentially to a campus advocate prior to disclosing information, please contact Survivor Advocacy Services by calling UTCPD at
