Competitive Play

What is Competitive Esports?
UTC Campus Recreation provides a gaming community for all students enrolled at UTC. We offer inclusive and diverse opportunities from casual to intercollegiate competition by providing esports and gaming services to all students.
Gaming has been a long tradition at UTC, with students playing casually and through UTC competitions. UTC entered the intercollegiate competitive esport arena during the pandemic and has quickly enhanced and broadened opportunities.
The levels of gaming available at UTC include:
- Esports Team
-
Intercollegiate competition requiring high-level talent and dedication to the sport. Tryouts are conducted for all competitive esports teams.
Teams:
UTC currently fields intercollegiate esports teams in Call of Duty, Rocket League, Valorant, League of Legends, and Overwatch.
Future Teams:
Apex Legends & Rainbow Six Siege
Eligibility:
UTC Esports programs place academics first. To participate in our competitive program, all athletes must be in good academic standing, enrolled as a full-time student (12+ credit hours for undergraduate students, 6+ credit hours for graduate students), and be a degree-seeking student with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Recruiting & Scholarships:
UTC awards scholarships to Esports players, student coaches, and other students who are working with the growth and development of Esports. Scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis. Esports scholarship amounts take into consideration all academic and institutional aid. Awards are renewable. Incoming and transfer students are eligible to apply.
