Chancellor's Metropolitan Forum Encourages Regional Participation

UTC will host regional colleagues in a celebration of community partnerships and higher education at the Chancellor's Metropolitan Forum scheduled for Monday, September 18, with morning sessions offered in the Tennessee Room of the University Center and afternoon sessions to be held in the Benwood Auditorium of the new Engineering, Math and Computer Science Building.

Dr. Barbara Holland, Executive Editor of the Metropolitan Universities Journal will be sharing her insights and experiences beginning at 12:10 p.m. in the Tennessee Room.

In two sessions at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., participants have been urged by forum coordinator Dr. John Schaerer "to share stories and examples of partnerships and best practices developed within their communities and in our region."

Schaerer says the forum addresses the mission of the University, which is to "serve as a national model for an engaged metropolitan university whose faculty, staff, and students, in collaboration with external partners, employ the intellectual resources of the liberal arts and professional programs to enrich the lives of those we serve."
