UTC Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

Under the direction of Jooyong Ahn, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Orchestras, the UTC Symphony Orchestra will present the Spring concert on Tuesday, February 6, 7:30-9 p.m. at the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Center.

Concerto Competition winners Min Kang, violin, Ginny Winston, flute and Steven Liening, piano, will be featured.  Works of Copland, Mozart, Doppler and Beethoven will be performed.  There will be a special appearance by the Girls Preparatory School (GPS) Senior Orchestra.

Jooyong Ahn is a citizen of the United States and native of Seoul, South Korea. He was educated at Kyung Hee University, Seoul, majoring in violin and viola performance. He performed with major orchestras around the world at many notable music venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall and Avery Fischer Hall and Philadelphia’s Academy Hall.He holds two Master of Music degrees, one a graduate degree in Orchestral Conducting from the prestigious Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

The public is welcome, and there is no charge for admission.
