Interior design students improve Nightfall dressing rooms

Free Friday Nightfall concerts have begun again at Miller Plaza, with freshly redecorated dressing rooms to welcome the performers. Two teams of University interior design students were responsible for the re-design project.

“Our experience with the UTC interior design department has always been very positive, and the outstanding results of this project only serve to further strengthen the reputation of the program and of it students,” said Carla Pritchard, Executive Director
Chattanooga Downtown Partnership.

With a budget of $1,000 provided for each team, the headliner and opening act dressing rooms were infused with new paint, flooring and furnishings. Pritchard said the students took this rudimentary space and turned it into “a beautiful and practical lounge and dressing area for the many musical artists that we present throughout our season for the community to enjoy.”

Pritchard sent each of the participants a complimentary letter, thanking them for their work. Dr. Jane Reagor, Associate Professor in the Department of Human Ecology, has said the students will receive credit for their work.
